Overview
RouterStatus (“we”, “us”) provides a router monitoring platform that lets network professionals view and manage devices across multiple vendor cloud platforms from a single dashboard. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to routerstatus.com and the RouterStatus application at app.routerstatus.com.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, company name, and a password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
Vendor platform credentials. To monitor your devices, you may connect third-party platforms (such as Peplink InControl, CradlePoint NCM, Digi Remote Manager, Inseego, Teltonika RMS, or Semtech). API credentials you provide are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and are used solely to retrieve device data on your behalf.
Device data. We retrieve and store device information from your connected platforms — such as device names, models, serial numbers, firmware versions, IP addresses, signal metrics, and online/offline status — in order to display it to you and alert you to changes.
Support communications. If you contact us through our support form or by email, we keep the correspondence, your email address, and related metadata so we can respond and maintain a support history.
Usage and log data. Like most web services, our servers record standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) used for security, debugging, and operating the service.
How we use information
We use the information above to provide and operate the service, display your device data, send service-related notifications you request, respond to support requests, secure the platform against abuse, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your device data for advertising.
Third-party services
We interact with the vendor platforms you choose to connect, using the credentials you provide. Forms on our website are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms. We use standard hosting and email infrastructure providers to operate the service; these providers process data only on our behalf.
Cookies
The application uses session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data retention and deletion
We retain account and device data while your account is active. If you close your account, or ask us to, we will delete your account data and stored vendor credentials within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or backup purposes. To request deletion, contact us via the support page below.
Security
We take security seriously: vendor credentials are encrypted at rest, traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS, and access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
Children's privacy
RouterStatus is a business tool and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
